Facebook Lite was launched a while ago to allow faster surfing of Facebook on slow internet connection. Some users have reported
problems using this lite version of Facebook. Most common being automatic login into lite version of Facebook instead of normal version. Following are few ways to disable automatic login into Facebook Lite:
1. Manual Change of Facebook URL
After login, if URL is http://lite.facebook.com/ – remove word lite and try to access http://facebook.com for the normal version of Facebook.
2. Change Privacy Settings
While in Facebook Lite version: Click Settings, then click on Profile or Friendship link. You will get new screen to click on link that will redirect you to normal Facebook version.
3. Change Facebook Language
While in Facebook Lite version: Click Settings, and then click Language option. Chose language other than English and you will be automatically re-directed to normal version of Facebook with different language. Note: Facebook Lite only works in English language.
4. Clear Internet & browser history
You can manually clear internet and browsing history. Alternatively, you can use free software like Wipe to clean all the temporary data on the computer.
5 Flush DNS on the computer
Lastly, you can try flushing DNS cache on the computer and attempt to load normal Facebook. Click Start > Run and then type cmd in run box & click OK. In the black window, type ipconfig /flushdns and press enter. Then type ipconfig /registerdns and press enter.
Either of above way should fix Facebook Lite issue. If you know any other way to check on this issue, feel free to share with us by adding a comment.

Have you ever turned-off your monitor before leaving for the day or even for lunch? If yes then you are a true environment friendly guy. For those who have not done that or don’t do it just because it sometimes is a pain to turn the switch of the monitor off every time you leave for a break or for lunch or for any 1-2 mins break, here is a gift. A small utility called MonitorES (Monitor Energy Saver).
MonitorES is a small utility (an EXE) which does not require installation or admin access to work. You can download this utility from here and can run it. The main features of this utility are:
- Automatically turnoff monitor
- Automatically pause running media programs.
- Automatically IM away status message
- Mute Master sound
and many other… This utility comes handy when you lock your workstation, locking of the machine initiates the MonitorES and it turns of the display to save energy. It also has one more killer feature, if you are away from your desk but still around your work-area and don’t want anyone else to see your monitor you can use the Hot Key Ctrl + F2, this will not lock your machine but will simply turn off the monitor.
The monitor turns back on when you press any key from the keyboard or move your mouse. Optionally you can also configure the below options in the utility so that you need not run it every time you reboot your machine:

As they say “Tiny droplets make the sea” similarly saving energy in small bits can save this environment from global warming.
You can find more about this utility here. Project Owner keeps updating this utility with new features and removal of bugs, so I would recommend you to use the latest one. To make the up-to-date information handy I have generated the RSS for this project which can be found here. Optionally you can subscribe via email here.

A lot of times you might have noticed that you get many mails when you come to office in the morning and some of them need some attention. Some needs a follow-up, some needs a reply and some marked for later. Microsoft Outlook 2003 / 2007 do provide a great option of Follow-Up or Flag for any such mails. You can mark mails for later review, but with the increasing number of mails coming and the amount of work everyone does, you tend to miss the Follow-up section and mails stay in that section for days un-noticed.

As a solution to this above problem here is the practice which I follow; I keep the important or follow-up mails as unread so they stay clear in my Inbox as well as in unread items. The default setting (or the problem) with this type of practice is that if by mistake you click on any of the unread mail and then click some other email, you will see Outlook marks the unread mail as read and you lose that email from follow-up.
If you do practice the above solution by keeping the mails as unread to follow-up later, there is a solution to this problem. Goto Outlook Menu Tools > Options > Others > Reading Pane

And uncheck the item Mark items as read when viewed in the Reading Pane. Alternately you can change this to much higher number like 60 seconds; this will not mark the mail as read till 1 min.
Following the above practice I can now read all my mails and can leave the once as unread to which I have to reply for later. I hope this simple solution will help those who follow or will follow the above practice.
